@ 12244 SE Holgate Blvd. Portland, OR 97236
An open community space for:
We have open space, woodworking/construction tools, 3D printers, and engineering equipment such as soldering irons. Our goal is to enable community self-sufficiency by providing the space, technology and education needed to solve everyday challenges faced by those without the means or privilege that would otherwise allow access to such tools & resources. We've supported makers & collaborated with other organizations to create things such as hand sanitizer-powered heaters, composting toilets, shade structures, handheld cooling devices, portable lighting & battery charging, and even Wi-Fi solutions for small communities & camps.
The open space also supports art projects of all types, including painting, crafts, digital art, and of course 3D printing. We hope to foster enrichment & wellness by supporting local community artists.
We have studio space & audio engineering support to enable musicians, podcasters, performers, and journalists to record and share their art & message in the highest possible quality at the lowest possible cost. The goal of our studio is to provide means for the community to be informed and entertained through local sources.
We consider events on a case-by-case basis, and provide PA systems & recording as well. Limited guest parking is available in front of the building, and along Holgate Blvd.
As part of our ongoing work focused on supporting the houseless community & camps, we store & distribute supplies from the space. This includes water, hand sanitizer, N95 masks, tents, and basic necessities. We also engage in mutual aid and bring supplies from JOHS to a central distribution point in SW Portland.
